Refund Policy

This Refund Policy is part of Giftwrapped's Terms of Service and covers (1) Contributions to a Celebration Link before a Giftwrapped Gift Card has been issued, and (2) product purchases at shop.gift-wrapped.com.
1. Refunding a Contribution (before the gift card is issued)
Your Contribution is refunded automatically, with no action required from you, if any of the following happens:
- The Organizer cancels the Celebration Link before the Celebration Day.
- Giftwrapped suspends the Celebration Link for a Terms violation.
- Giftwrapped is technically unable to issue the gift card on the Celebration Day and cannot resolve within 7 days.
Refunds are issued to the original PayPal or Stripe payment method and settle within 5–7 business days per the processor's standard refund timing.
You may also request a refund of your Contribution by emailing support@birthdayfor.com in the following circumstances:
- Before the Celebration Day — for any reason. Issued within one business day of the request.
- You contributed by mistake — duplicate payment, incorrect amount, wrong Celebration Link. Email us with the transaction details.
- Unauthorized use of your payment method — email us immediately. We will refund the Contribution and recommend you also open a dispute with PayPal or Stripe.
2. After the gift card has been issued
Once a Giftwrapped Gift Card has been issued to the Celebrant on the Celebration Day, the Contribution has been converted into store credit owned by the Celebrant. At that point, Contribution-level refunds are not generally available. If you believe a refund is warranted after issuance (e.g., the Celebrant never received the gift card email), contact support@birthdayfor.com and we will review case-by-case.
3. Giftwrapped Gift Card terms
- No expiration. The monetary value of a Giftwrapped Gift Card never expires, consistent with the federal CARD Act and California Civil Code §1749.5.
- No fees. No dormancy, inactivity, or service fees are charged against the balance.
- Cash redemption of small balances. Remaining balances under $10.00 may be redeemed for cash by emailing support@birthdayfor.com with the gift card code and a refund destination (PayPal or a verified bank account). California Civil Code §1749.5(b)(2).
- Non-transferable. Gift cards may not be resold or transferred for value.
- Lost or stolen. At our discretion, we may replace the balance if ownership can be verified.
4. Refunds on store purchases
Returns and refunds for products purchased at shop.gift-wrapped.com are governed by the store's published return policy at shop.gift-wrapped.com/policies.
- Products that arrive damaged, defective, or substantially different from their description will be replaced or refunded.
- Print-on-demand items (most of our catalog) are made-to-order and generally not returnable for non-defective reasons.
- Store purchase refunds originally paid with a Giftwrapped Gift Card return as gift card credit, consistent with standard retail practice.
5. Disputes and chargebacks
Please email support@birthdayfor.com first; we respond within 24 hours and resolve most issues immediately. You retain the right to dispute any payment through PayPal's or Stripe's standard dispute resolution process. We cooperate with the processor and will refund any payment the processor directs us to refund.
6. How we issue refunds
- Contribution refunds go back through PayPal or Stripe to the original payment method.
- Store-purchase refunds go back to the original payment method (gift card, card, or PayPal).
- We do not issue refunds in cash, check, or to a different account.
- Processor refunds typically settle within 5–7 business days; some banks may take longer to post.
